JIGYASA Study

Jigyasa means curiosity to know things. At present, the guidelines on when to get a heart calcium scan do not account for people of South Asian descent. If we can determine at what age someone should get a heart calcium scan, we can optimize health care resource use to identify population at risk before a heart attack happens.

Popcorn Candy Drive

“I celebrated my 36th birthday (October 16, 2018) by launching makeadent.org’s Popcorn Candy Drive for kids in New Delhi, India.

Just a packet of popcorn and cotton candy as a mid-morning snack after breakfast made their day. We also served fresh, hot meals to over a 100 men and women who don’t have access to even a single meal per day.”

Breakfast with Colors

We celebrated Diwali 2018 by organizing Breakfast with Colors for kids in New Delhi, India.

We served breakfast with vegetable sandwiches, and provided them with crayons to sketch and color. With over a 100 amazing color sketches, we picked six winners.

Jatin, the amazingly talented kid who won the first prize for his peacock sketch (he’s holding the makeadent.org flag high), doesn’t have funds for advancing his painting skills. makeadent.org is working with his parents (who are handicapped and can’t afford to send him to a school) to arrange for his painting school classes.

The Temples Project

Hypertension and diabetes are leading causes of death and disability in India today.

In order to change this scenario, makeadent.org has teamed up with SEHAT (Society for Enhanced Health and Access to Treatments) to start providing screening, education and monitoring services to patients in a temple setting, so that more patients in the community can have their hypertension and diabetes appropriately treated.
